Main Goal
Limagrain Field Seeds breeds, produces and commercializes field seeds to farmers. Investments in Research and Development reach 14.3% of the annual Group turnover.
The fourth largest seed company worldwide, Limagrain is an international agricultural cooperative group, founded and managed by French farmers. As a creator and producer of plant varieties, Limagrain distributes field seeds, vegetable seeds and cereal products.
Limagrain Research is present in China since 2002 and is delivering commercial hybrids that are growing in the market and running programs at world class level.
We are now seeking highly motivated individuals to join Limagrain China Field Research Team. Under supervision of China Line development manager, you will lead and manage a team targeting to deliver high quality converted lines, to support breeding programs in China.
Job description
· As a Conversion project manager, you will contribute to a Research Team striving to bring new and improved products to market, enhancing superior genetics with high value traits.
· Develop trait conversion strategy in compliance with Chinese regulations; work closely with different stakeholders to collect information and fine-tune the goals.
· Coordinate with breeders to build conversion list for the parental lines of pipeline hybrids; follow up with trait providers and ensure the conversion can meet required quality, prioritizations, and timelines.
· Design and establish a high-quality conversion platform in China, using state-of-art technologies; in collaboration with winter nursery operation team, to speed up continuous production process and optimize each key steps.
· Follow the Group guidelines and responsible for establishment of Quality Management System; actively involved in training, implementation and checking for the team.
· Collaborate with internal and external labs to build reliable and efficient testing method.
· Manage budget and resources for program to attain the objectives.
· Responsible for germplasm safety in conversion process.
· Promote a Safe and Inclusive working environment for all employees.
Skills: what we expect of you
· Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Plant Breeding, biotechnology, or related fields.
· Minimum three or more years of experience with strong background in breeding and molecular technologies.
· Good ability to communication, leadership, management, and teamwork.
· Good ability to understand policy and regulations.
· Good language skill in both English and Chinese.
· Ability to use software for data analyses, management, presentation, and reporting.
· Willing to work in agriculture for field and lab work.
· Ability to meet timelines, work extended hours outdoors and frequent travels during entire growing season.
· Driving license is required.
