Under the management of the Limagrain Vegetables Pre-Breeding Discovery Team Lead;
- You lead and participate to research projects in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (Pre-Breeding, Breeding, Pathology, Genetics, etc…)
- You identify and study innovative traits, which contribute to crop resilience breeding for Pepper, using the most relevant scientific approaches and plant populations
- You contribute to the development of molecular tools allowing trait implementation in breeding germplasm by creating the adapted populations
- You participate to the development of new phenotyping methodologies and protocols in close collaboration with technology experts and breeders
- You enrich, characterize and valorize the Pepper genetic resources collection, collaborating with public, academic and private institutes
- You will contribute to develop and strengthen IP portfolio

To fulfill your missions you will collaborate with teams based in several countries. You also have one assistant, directly reporting to you.

You are:
- a researcher with scientific mindset
- a great team player with a pro-active work attitude
- conceptually strong and skilled in practical experimental work with affinity for agronomy and interested in plant stress response and physiology.
- very organized and able to delegate tasks clearly to your assistant

You have:

- a PhD with specialization in Plant Science or Plant Breeding related fields and experience with plant phenotyping and abiotic stress research is an advantage.

- Professional experience in Plant Breeding industry is an advantage.

- experience in plant biology and plant physiology (in Pepper or related crop families is an advantage)

- more than 5 years’ experience in research projects management, from proposal drafting to execution and completion. (conceptualization, organization, planning, budget, analysis, conclusion, recommendation for implementation)

- very good organization skills and able to work effectively  in multi-disciplinary teams

- Excellent interpersonal competencies: communicative, open-minded, active listener

- Adaptability allowing you to thrive in an international and multi-cultural environment, and to operate in a matrix organization.

- Traveling (national and international) will occupy ~20% of your time

- You are fluent in French and professional level in English.
